Doing HIS Time Prison Ministry was founded in June of 1999 by James C. Vogelzang. Doing HIS Time, a Christ-centered prison ministry, puts into practice the wisdom of St. Francis by delivering practical, hands-on solutions to the challenges associated with incarceration and reintegration for inmates and their families. Doing HIS Time initiates original ministry programs. But, Doing HIS Time essentially prefers to partner with churches and other para-church organizations to bring hope to prisoners and their families by being the “face and hands of Christ” in actual, tangible ways. Those concrete ways include transportation for the families of inmates on visiting days (Barn-A-Bus). The “face and hands of Christ” are visible in reintegration programs that assist inmates during their first 72 hours after release. (72 Hour Fund). Doing HIS Time provides for the education of serious Christian, long term offenders so that they can shepherd and teach while incarcerated (Pauls Behind Walls). In addition, Doing HIS Time is preparing a devotional written especially for those in prison and distributes NIV Life Application Study Bibles when funds are available. “Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words.” -St. Francis of Assisi |
