Barn-A-Bus is a ministry of Doing HIS Time that is dedicated to assisting the Holy Spirit in keeping families together. Statistic show that 90% of marriages end during the first year of a man or women being incarcerated. Barn-A-Bus provides low cost/no cost transportation from Denver, Colorado Springs and South Central, Los Angeles to many prisons on a weekly basis. It started in 2000 when Doing HIS Time realized how difficult it is for families to visit their loved ones in prison. Often inmates are from low income families where money is constantly in short supply, therefore making the long trip out to the prison to see their loved ones quite difficult or even impossible. The healing power of human connection during incarceration is critical. Offenders must be able to connect with their loved ones if families are to remain intact. Because of Barn-A-Bus many offenders have been able to begin again in relationships with their children, as well as continue visiting with elderly parents who may not have been able to come out to visit if not for the Barn-a-Bus program. Doing HIS Time currently sponsors a Barn-A-Bus in Colorado and one in Los Angeles.
