Barn-a-Bus Colorado

Statistics show that 90% of marriages end during the first year of a man or woman being incarcerated. Doing HIS Time knows how difficult it is for families to visit their loved ones in prison due to cost and distance. However, the touch of Christ and the healing power of human connection during incarceration are critical to transformation and successful reintegration upon release. Founded in 2000, Barn-A-Bus/Colorado provides round-trip, low cost, reliable and dependable Saturday & Sunday transportation from Denver to Colorado prisons on a weekly, scheduled basis. Most prisons are served, but not every week. If you do not see your facility listed, please let us know. A donation for travel is all we ask.

Barn-A-Bus‘ suggested donation is established by the cost of operating the van fleet, gasoline, and length of the distance to/from the facility. The average donation currently is between $20-$35.00 per passenger. Group rates for families. It is our policy that if we have a seat open and a passenger is not able to donate for the ride, they will ride free. We have about 1/5 of our passengers that are indigent and qualify. Contact the receptionist to see if we can help you.

Our desire is to keep you connected with your loved one while they are incarcerated. We hope that you will utilize our services. To our knowledge, there is no other ministry or private company that does what we do. If you choose to take a charter bus, it will cost you at least $99-$149 per person one way and no buses return to Denver on the same day. So we are the best help in the state.

Ultimately, the more passengers that ride, the cheaper the costs to all. So we encourage you to please let others know about us. We are a private Christian non-profit and we do not make a profit on these rides. Our drivers are all volunteers and they volunteer to serve you. Please respect them and if you have any problems, feel free to contact the operations manager at the number listed above.

Cancellation Policy

Riders with reservations must call to cancel reservation if you cannot appear. Failure to notify DHT will result in somebody else being denied a seat and you may lose your BAB riding privileges for a short time.

An Introduction to Barn-a-Bus

Change a Life Today

A visit from a loved one while in prison through our Barn-A-Bus program is like giving a cup of cold water to a person dying of thirst. It will change the life trajectory of an incarcerated woman or man to see their children, mother or spouses. Finding acceptance and tangible clothing assistance through DHT’s 72 Hour Fund has changed the life of more than 80% of inmates who come to DHT. Change a life today by supporting these two programs that are changing lives.

Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.
